The Ribblehead or Batty Moss Viaduct carries the Settle – Carlisle Railway across the Ribble Valley at Batty Moss. The viaduct is actually in Yorkshire but is part of the Settle – Carlisle line which is very much a Cumbrian affair.
Completed in 1874, the viaduct stretches 440 yards (400m) and reaches a height of over 100 feet (30m) above the valley floor
